Hey, Brian thanks for taking time out of your schedule to talk with us today.
Not a problem at all, I'm always excited to talk to fellow entrepreneurs.
One of the funniest things I ever heard you say was "Never unemployed, but always unemployable." Can you tell me what that means?
To me being "unemployable" means that you never need to rely on someone else for your paycheck. It means maybe you're not cut out to be working for someone else. I certainly know that I'm not. So I say I'm unemployable because I never want to be looking for a job.
So are you saying that everybody should be their own boss?
No, I'm not saying that, because some people actually thrive in the security and knowledge that someone else is ultimately responsible for their financial future. But to me, that sounds terrifying. I want to know that I can go hunt, kill, drag home and eat my own money, so to speak. Others may want to go buy their food at the store, but that's not the way of the entrepreneur.
So what makes entrepreneurship so attractive to you?
Well, my earliest ideas about business and entrepreneurship actually came from getting involved in the network marketing industry in high school. I would go to these pump up meetings every Thursday night with my upline sponsor and learn about how to sell the products. One of the very first things they taught us in these meetings was that if you wanted to become wealthy you have a much higher chance of doing so if you are not employed by someone else. They also taught that earnings can be practically unlimited when you own your own business. A J.O.B. to them stood for "just over broke." Maybe not everyone will agree with that statement, but it left a lasting impression on me. I guess you could say I drank the Kool-aid.
Another big thing network marketing taught me was about the concept of freedom. Freedom not just financially but the freedom to choose what you do, where you get to work and who you get to work with. When you're an entrepreneur you have the ultimate freedom to make all of these choices for yourself, with with a job they're mostly made for you.
So let's talk about that for a second. The last time you had a job it actually lead you to a huge breakthrough, correct? Can you talk about that story?
Sure. I was working at a software company several years ago. I took the job because my real estate business had collapsed with the last major real estate bubble coming to an end. Thankfully, because I was restless to get out of that job, I was always searching for a new side hustle to bring in extra income. I quickly found out that the easiest and fastest way to produce income - with very little money out of pocket - was with Airbnb. Little did I know that I would end up scaling it into a super lucrative business and then go on to teach thousands of people around the world how to do the same.
OK so let's talk about that for a minute. What exactly do you do on Airbnb?
What I do is control multiple properties that I don't own and turn them into my own personal profit centers on Airbnb. In a nutshell, I rent properties and then list them on Airbnb, with the permission of the owners. These places make way more by the night on Airbnb than what it costs me on a monthly basis to rent. It's a highly lucrative way to create instant cash flow without any of the downsides of traditional real estate investing or any huge start-up costs. After getting approached by so many people to share how I had built my business I started teaching.
Incredible. I understand you've had a ton of super successful students that have come through your training?
Yes, I'm still amazed every day as the stories keep coming in. From people that wanted to make a couple thousand dollars a month to those who are making well over six figures or multiple six figures per year on Airbnb. And most of these people had no prior experience whatsoever with Airbnb or real estate. It's very humbling and it's an incredible side benefit of being a teacher and trainer to see so many succeeding.
Wow, Brian thank you so much for your time. This is been very inspiring. What's the best way people can get a hold of you or learn more about what you do?
